Who we are

Wranx is a microlearning company based in Liverpool, United Kingdom. For learner data held inside the platform we act as a processor on behalf of your employer, who is the controller. For this website and our own marketing, we are the controller.

What we collect

From learners using the platform:

• Account details supplied by your employer — name, work email, team, role and location
• Learning activity — answers, confidence ratings, streaks, module progress and assessment scores
• Technical data — device type, browser, IP address and timestamps, used for security and support

From visitors to this website:

• Contact form — your name, work email, company and message
• Demo request — your name, work email, phone number if you give one, company and team size
• Drill signup — your name, work email, company, and which drill you chose or the topic you described
• Newsletter — the email address you enter in the footer
• Aggregate analytics about which pages are read and for how long

Contact and demo submissions are passed to our enquiries system so somebody can reply. We also record the page you sent them from and your IP address, which is what stops the forms being used to send bulk automated mail.

Why we process it

Learning activity is processed to deliver the service your employer has bought: scheduling questions, measuring knowledge growth, and reporting progress to the people responsible for training.

Website data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests, to understand what people find useful and to respond when you ask us to get in touch.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use learner answers to train models that serve other customers.

Who sees learner data

Managers and administrators at your employer can see performance for the teams they are responsible for. Wranx staff access learner data only where needed for support, and that access is logged.

We use a small number of sub-processors for hosting, email delivery and error monitoring. A current list is available on request.

Where data is held

Platform data is hosted in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Where a transfer outside that area is necessary, it is covered by UK International Data Transfer Agreements or equivalent safeguards.

How long we keep it

Learner records are retained for the life of your employer’s subscription and for ninety days afterwards, so records can be exported. Website enquiries are kept for twenty-four months.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to receive it in a portable format.

If you are a learner, the quickest route is usually through your employer, since they control the account. You can also come to us directly and we will help. You may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at any time.

Making a data protection request

To ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how we use it, write to us at either address above and say what you would like us to do. Mark it for the attention of the data protection lead so it reaches the right desk.

We answer within one month. If your data sits inside the learning platform rather than this website, your employer controls that account and we may need to pass the request to them — we will tell you if that happens rather than leaving you waiting. We may ask for enough information to be sure who you are, which is a safeguard rather than an obstacle: we will not hand somebody else your records.

There is no charge, and you never have to come to us first. If you would rather complain to the regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office takes complaints at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113.
