This was particularly challenging amidst the initial impact of COVID-19, necessitating a shift to virtual learning methods while ensuring information retention. The need was for a tool capable of delivering digital training in short bursts, enhancing knowledge retention even in a remote environment.
Effective Knowledge Reinforcement With Microlearning
To address these challenges, IGT turned to Wranx, leveraging its spaced repetition learning technique to reinforce compliance knowledge. Wranx’s mobile app accessibility allowed employees to engage with training materials conveniently on any device, ensuring flexibility in learning schedules.
The Wranx content team collaborated with IGT to develop a custom compliance training module using existing materials and approved training documents. This module, delivered through daily bite-sized questions, provided additional resources and links to relevant partner websites, enhancing learning effectiveness.
Utilizing Certainty Based Marking (CBM)
A unique feature of the training involved Certainty Based Marking (CBM), requiring learners not only to answer questions but also indicate their confidence levels in their responses. This approach identified “misinformed” learners with high confidence in incorrect knowledge, enabling targeted interventions.

The results demonstrated significant improvement in knowledge retention, with 100% of learners enhancing their CBM scores from pre to post-assessment and 94% improving accuracy. Notably, there was a 100% decrease in “misinformed” learners, indicating a high level of alignment with accurate knowledge post-assessment.
